CANCELLATION / TRANSFER 

Request for cancellation or postponement of your IELTS test must be made via email ONLY to info@ieltstoronto.com. Telephone cancellation or postponement will NOT be accepted. 

 

Cancellation Policy

 Computer-delivered IELTS Cancellation Policy

  • Cancellation MORE than 2 weeks (14 days) ahead of the test date – candidate will receive full refund (minus administrative fee of $80)
  • Cancellation LESS than 2 weeks ahead of the test date – candidate will receive NO refund, but might be eligible for a test day transfer if a serious cause applies. $80 transfer fee applies to all approved test transfers.
  • Failure to appear for the test without notification is considered a cancellation and NO refund will be issued. This includes arriving late on the test day, or arrive without the required ID. The candidate must re-apply for a new test date.

Transfer Policy

    Candidates must lodge an application for transfer no later than 15 calendar days before the test date.

    You need to contact the test center directly by email at info@ieltstoronto.com and provide full information as to why you qualify for special consideration, with supporting evidence. Your test center will assess your application and will respond to you within seven working days of receiving your full application in writing, no requests will be accepted through the phone.

    The Administrator will advise the candidate within one week of lodging the application whether or not their request has been approved.

    • Requests for Test Date Transfer must be made MORE than 15 days prior to the registered test date for the computer-delivered IELTS.
    • Test transfer requests made 5-14 days from registered test date, an Administrative fee of $80 applies.
    • Requests made within 4 days of test date – No transfer will be allowed, any transfers during this period is treated as a cancellation. No refund will be issued.
    • Candidates maybe able to transfer their test date within 4 days of their test, if a serious cause applies.
    • Transfer dates will depend on availability, but must be chosen within the next 3 month period.

    The Request for Test Date Transfer Form must be filled out by the candidate. If the reason for cancellation/transfer is medical, an authorized medical certificate must be filled out by a medical practitioner. The completed form(s), along with supporting documentation and emailed to info@ieltstoronto.com. If your test center approves your application, you will be allowed to transfer your test day and subject to an administrative fee of $80.

    Acceptable documents may include a medical certificate from a qualified medical practitioner, a death certificate, or a police report. Statutory declarations and certificates signed by family members are not acceptable.

    The Administrator will advise the candidate within one week of lodging the application whether or not their request has been approved.

    Special Consideration Owing to Exceptional Circumstances 

    On rare occasions, there may be instances where you are unable to attend your test or are disadvantaged on test day owing to illness, injury, or another exceptional event outside your control. In these cases, you may make an application to the test center for special consideration due to exceptional circumstances. This will allow you to carry over your test fee to a later assessment opportunity or, in some cases, apply for a refund.  Special consideration includes instances such as:   

    • A traumatic experience  
    • Domestic crisis  
    • Unavoidable legal or military obligation   
    • Serious illness – e.g. hospital admission or serious injury (Does not include minor illness such as a mild cold) 
    • Bereavement, or other forms of significant hardship.   
    • Civil unrest, extreme weather  

     

      Apply for Refund/Transfer

      Candidates must complete the following form within the time period as stated above:  Request for Refund / Test Date Transfer Form and attach the appropriate documentation and/or evidence.  Acceptable documents may include a medical certificate from a qualified medical practitioner, a death certificate, or a police report. Statutory declarations and certificates signed by family members are not acceptable.

      The Request for Refund / Test Date Transfer Form must be filled out by the candidate. If the reason for cancellation/transfer is medical, medical document must be filled out by a medical practitioner.  The completed form(s), along with supporting documentation must be scanned and emailed to info@ieltstoronto.com.

      The Administrator will advise the candidate within one week of lodging the application whether or not their request has been approved.

      For additional TRF orders:
      1 - I did my IELTS test at a CA009 test location
      2 - I did my IELTS test within 2 years of today
      3 - I provided accurate information about the destination of the results
      4 - I provided accurate details of my test, including my name and test date
