Thinking Skills Assessment (TSA)

CES Exams offers the Thinking Skills Assessment (TSA) in Toronto, Canada.  

The Thinking Skills Assessment (TSA) Oxford is a 2-hour pre-interview test for applicants to undergraduate courses at the University of Oxford. It is designed to help tutors assess whether candidates have the skills and aptitudes needed to study the following courses:

  • Economics and Management
  • Experimental Psychology
  • Human Sciences
  • Philosophy and Linguistics
  • Philosophy, Politics and Economics (PPE)
  • Psychology and Linguistics
  • Psychology and Philosophy.

If you're applying for a joint course, you may also need to take a separate test in your other subject. You can confirm which test(s) your course requires at ox.ac.uk/tests. Separate registration is required for each test.

TSA is provided and managed by Cambridge Assessment Admissions Testing. Registration and invigilation services are provided by CES Exams Toronto. 

The TSA Test is taken annually in the fall. The next TSA Test will take place on November 5, 2020 at 1:00pm at 112 Elizabeth St., Toronto, ON, M5G1P5.

DUE TO TECHNICAL DIFFICULTIES, REGISTRATION FOR NOVEMBER 2020 ADMISSION TESTS IN TORONTO WILL NOW OPEN FROM SEPTEMBER 12, 2020 We apologize for the delay.

REGISTRATION BETWEEN SEPTEMBER 12, 2020 AND 29, 2020 AT 5:00PM EST. COST OF EXAM IS $150 CAD. Candidates are strongly recommended to register early as space is limited due to COVID-19 safety protocols.

If space permits, late registration will be open until October 14, 2020 at 5:00PM EST with late fee for total cost of $200.

If you would like to take the TSA Test in Toronto:

  1. Start your university application and obtain your UCAS ID
  2. Return to this website in September to see test day details and to register for your required admissions test(s)
  3. Complete the online application, entering your UCAS ID and choosing the universities and programs where your TSA results should be sent
  4. Complete the payment for your test online with a credit card (a fee applies for tests taken in Canada to cover costs for the venue, test day staff, registration and test courier)
  5. Wait for confirmation email, which will include your TSA confirmation number and further test day information
